Welcome to my blog. As a first post and someone new to the art of blogging, I’ll just write a brief introduction about myself and what i'm looking to achieve from this blog.
I'm a Chartered Electrical Engineer, a Registered Health and Safety Practitioner and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD; and have an MSc in Training and Performance Management. My career has included College senior management and 15 years with Oil and Gas companies such as Shell, SASREF, Atlantic Methanol Company and the Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS) as both an internal consultant and training expert. I have worked around the world in the Oil and Gas industry taking in locations such as the Middle East, the Far East, South America and West Africa, and over the past 3 years have been operating my own independent Oil and Gas Training and Development Consultancy, Roger Grice Associates.
I am an accomplished facilitator of learning and an expert in the field of technical competence development, particularly where industrial personnel are concerned, and I have successfully introduced innovative business initiatives which have helped solve client's problems and proved themselves to be extremely cost effective.
Further areas of personal expertise include Competence Profiling and Career Laddering, Coach and Mentor training, Health and Safety, and Risk Assessment.
In writing this blog, I hope to re-connect with past contacts that I have worked with throughout my career to date, as well as making a number of new contacts within the industry, and most importantly airing my views on training, development and competency within the Manufacturing and Oil and Gas Industry. I'll be doing my best to make sure that this blog is kept updated on a regular basis, so add me to your favourites list and see what I've got to say.
All feedback is welcome, and please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you'd like to discuss any of my blog post and ideas further!
